Origin of Chinese New Year

The Origin of Chinese New Year lies behind the beast Nian, a large mouth animal who can easily swallow a man, who used to scare people. After getting scared of this Nian, people went to an old man and recite him the whole story of their trouble.

This Old man, after hearing talks of worried people, went to the Nian and challanged him that if he can swallow a person then can he swallow other beast animals on the earth? Nian did everything according to the old man sayings to prove his dominance and power. This strategy of old man worked and made this earth free from wild beast. This old man turned out to be immortal god. Before leaving old man gave people an advice of to put up red paper decorations on their windows and doors at each year's end to scare away Nian in case it sneaked back again, because red is the color the beast feared the most.

This Nian is now remembered as dragon with large mouth and red is the theme color of the new year celebrations. This legend is not full proof right. We are just putting ideas and old people sayings.
